Nea Krini is a different, perhaps more elegant proposal located on the eastern part of the city, approximately 12 km away from Thessaloniki’s center. Some well-known and appreciated restaurants and fish-taverns can be found in the area, most of them located along the coastal avenue “Aretsou”.
Inspiring views and flavors
The view of the marina is really beautiful and relaxing, while it provides a nice opportunity to enjoy the majestic sunsets. Selected coffee shops offer a fantastic view towards the sea.
You can easily go to Kalamaria using the city’s ring road or by taking one of the bus lines available while of course, it is also accessible by boat.
It is generally considered one of the most interesting places, especially during the summer months. Prices are generally considered reasonable, although a number of coffee shops and restaurants are more expensive compared to other areas of Thessaloniki.
The center of Kalamaria has several beautiful bars, cafe and shops. It is ideal if you wish to spend some time outside the center of Thessaloniki while part of it is accessible to pedestrians only.
Taking a taxi is not recommended because of the relatively high fees and the distance that needs to be covered. Of course, if you own a yaucht, the local marina is the best solution!
